FINISH
French polishing is a traditional wood finishing technique that provides a very high gloss finish, deep colour and tough surface. The technique involves applying several thin coats of French polish (shellac dissolved in alcohol)
using a rubbing pad.
French polish can be used on all dark and light woods, when a light to medium brown tone is required. On very light coloured or bleached woods, where it is desirable to retain the natural colour, white French polish or transparent polish is required. Dedicated to achieving the finest wood finishes, I can sympathetically restore your furniture and retain the character of your antiques. I can also achieve modern cellulose finishes on contemporary or traditional furniture if required.
